Our next Zoom chapter meeting on Thursday, April 20, at 7 p.m. Central Time will feature Karen Kortsch, a member of our NOW chapter. Karen recently attended the Conference on the Status of Women (CSW) at the United Nations (UN) Headquarters in New York City.  (That’s her at the conference, second from right.)  Please plan to attend this meeting and learn about the UN, the annual CSW held at the UN, and why it matters.

Karen is a retired registered nurse who now devotes her time to volunteer work with several organizations including NOW. As a member of the Unitarian Universalist Association, Karen serves as the President of the Board of Directors at the International Convocation of Unitarian Universalist Women, also known as the International Women’s Convocation (IWC). The IWC brings together women, who identify as Unitarian and/or Unitarian Universalist, to improve the lives of women and girls in their communities. The IWC is a member of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations.
