Please join the Chicago/North Shore section of the National Council of Jewish Women, as they present the Hannah G. Solomon Award to Senator Sara Feigenholtz. This prestigious award is presented to a woman who has helped to change and expand the role of other women in vital areas of community life, and whose leadership has motivated others to fight for change.
In the spirit of Hannah G. Solomon, who established the National Council of Jewish Women in 1893, Sara is a longtime champion for the rights of women and children. In her more than twenty-five years of service to Illinois, first as a State Representative and currently as State Senators of the sixth district, she has been a leader in streamlining the adoption process and cutting red tape. She has stood up for medical and mental health care accessibility to all residents of Illinois, and it was her passionate voice for reproductive rights that was instrumental in passing of the Youth Health and Safety Act in last month’s Veto Session that eliminated PNA.
Senator Feigenholtz embodies our section’s advocacy and community service values. She has given us her ear for over twenty-five years in her fight for a better Illinois. She has never disappointed us. The impact of her long service career speaks for itself. With gratitude and love, we will be awarding her our highest honor to Senator Sara Feigenholtz on December 8, 2021 at 7:00-7:30 pm on Zoom.
