Please join the National Organization for Women for this panel event, Justice at Our Border: Addressing the Barriers Faced by Undocumented Women, on Tuesday, January 18th at 6:00 pm Central time.
This thrilling event will feature U.S. Congresswomen Zoe Lofgren and Pramila Jayapal as keynote speakers!
As the Chair of the Subcommittee on Immigration and Citizenship, a former immigration attorney, and immigration law professor, Rep. Lofgren is recognized as an established champion of top-to-bottom immigration reform and a national leader in immigration policy. During the 113th Congress, she played a key role in negotiating a comprehensive reform bill in the House Representatives as part of an eight-person bipartisan working group.
In Congress, Rep. Jayapal has been a leader on immigration, including fighting the Trump Administration’s inhumane policies of separating children from their parents and crafting legislation to create a fair and humane immigration system. She has also authored landmark pieces of progressive legislation including the Ultra-Millionaire Tax Act, Dignity for Detained Immigrants Act, the Housing is a Human Right Act, and the National Domestic Workers Bill of Rights.
We look forward to coming together with Representative Zoe Lofgren, Representative Pramila Jayapal, and partners from leading activist organizations as we explore the barriers women face while being undocumented – everything from the challenges of accessing reproductive health care to the real danger of domestic abuse and sexual assault.
