Inequities in Health Care, with Margie Schaps of the Health & Medicine Policy Research Group
September 16 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Our chapter’s September meeting will feature Margie Schaps, executive director of the Health & Medicine Policy Research Group (hmprg.org), speaking on Inequities in Health Care.
The tragic inequality in health care in our country — with so many without medical insurance, unable to go the doctor and/or being bankrupted by medical bills — is a feminist issue. Women are disproportionately affected by this immoral and evil state of affairs — especially women of color. Margie will discuss HMPRG’s history, the work it does, and how health care must become a human right. Frankly, the status quo is both misogynist and racist.
The Health & Medicine Policy Research Group is our nation’s foremost think tank on health care issues, founded by the famed physician Quentin Young.
